How we process your files
Short version: the work happens on your device. Your files, text and passwords are not uploaded to ToolzGo.
What “runs in your browser” means
When you open a ToolzGo tool, the page downloads a small program (JavaScript) to your browser. When you choose a photo or PDF, that program reads the file directly from your device, does the work — compressing, converting, merging, calculating — and hands the result back to you as a download. The file is never sent to a ToolzGo server, because there is no server waiting to receive it: the site is a set of static pages.
The exceptions, stated plainly
A handful of tools need public information from the internet. For these, only what is needed is sent, and the tool page says so:
- Currency Converter and Crypto Converter download public exchange rates. The amount you type stays in your browser.
- Password Breach Checker hashes your password in your browser and sends only the first 5 characters of the hash to the Have I Been Pwned service (the k-anonymity method). Your password is never sent.
- Some tools load a well-known open-source library (for example pdf.js for reading PDFs) from a public CDN the first time you use them. The library is code — your file is not sent.
What we do collect
Like most free sites, ToolzGo uses Google Analytics to count visits and Google AdSense to show ads. These tools see which pages are visited — not the files you process. You can limit them with Cookie settings in the footer. Details are in the privacy policy. Small preferences (theme, last-used quality, recent tools, favourites) are stored in your own browser's local storage and never leave it.
Check it yourself
- Open a tool such as the image compressor.
- Open your browser's developer tools (F12) and go to the Network tab.
- Process a file. You will see no request carrying your file.
- Or simply turn off your internet connection after the page loads — the tool still works.
Offline use
After you have opened a tool once, ToolzGo saves it on your device so it works without a connection. You can also install the site to your home screen or desktop from your browser's menu.
Limits to know about
Because the work uses your device, very large files (hundreds of megabytes) depend on your device's memory. Results from calculators are estimates for general information — not medical, financial or legal advice.
